About Our Publication

The Pursuit of Meaningful Distance

Why 111111 exists in an era of hyper-accelerated tourist consumption.

A Magazine Designed for Reflection, Not Just Direction

Founded by a collective of photographers, essayists, and naturalists, 111111 stands deliberately outside the viral tourism treadmill. We do not publish "Top 10 Instagram Spots". We document the morning fog hanging over ancient tea terracing, the acoustic silence of sub-Arctic fjords, and the quiet dedication of family-run inns.

Our headquarters and editorial masthead operate out of the United States, yet our contributors reside from Valparaíso to Hokkaido, reporting firsthand on changes in fragile ecosystems and living cultures.

Our Editorial Pillars

01

Total Independence

No hotel or airline buys editorial bias. We refuse comped stays that demand positive coverage.

02

Slow Immersion

Our journalists spend a minimum of two weeks in any location before committing words to ink or screen.

03

Ecological Dignity

We spotlight operators actively engaged in conservation, regional craft survival, and carbon restraint.

Have a Story to Pitch?

We actively seek essays and field dispatches from independent correspondents worldwide.
